Who we are

Hi, my name is Marion (aka The Kitty Concierge), and I am a cat-aholic! Seriously, I have loved cats for as long as I can remember. My first cat came to live with us in my parents’ home after a two-week-long period of eight-year-old me absolutely badgering my poor parents about getting a cat. My best friend had gotten a kitten, and it was the most adorable creature I had seen up to this point in my short life; so, I begged my parents to adopt a kitten until they wearily gave in. That first cat became my best friend, and she was with me for a long time.

Over the course of my adult life I adopted and fostered a number of cats, turning my reluctant partner slowly but surely into a cat person. They had grown up without pets, and the concept of sharing your home with a furry creature was knew for them. Our children naturally became cat people themselves, having grown up with cats since infancy.

The idea to create a cat sitting service came to me during the pandemic. I watched a bunch of friends and acquaintances adopt their first cats, and I remember thinking that everyone would need a sitter once the world opened up for travel again. I had watched cats here and there for friends and neighbors, and eventually had the idea to turn cat sitting into a business. Living in the suburbs of NYC, I thought that this type of service should include not just caring for cats, but also caring for my clients’ homes. Watering plants and other basic house sitting tasks such as mail-retrieval and basic pool care should be part of the service - hence, The Kitty Concierge was born!

This business has truly become a labor of love. I enjoy caring for my feline clients and their owners’ homes while they are away.
